CFD Simulation on Valve's Flow Resistance Characteristic

On the experience of PWR operation, the reactor coolant system (RCS) valve, used in coolant temperature detect, which technical is split type forging exists leakage risk from the lips weld on the connecting point of the valve, so integrated casted valve valve is needed as replacement to satisfy the system characteristic requirement. This document conducts numerical simulation by CFD software CFX to calculate integrated valve's flow resistance characteristic, analysis the resistance adaptability of integrated casted valve to RCS system characteristic requirement. The result shows integrated casted valve's flow resistance characteristic can satisfy the requirement of RCS system.
