Development of a compact acetylene optical frequency standard at 1.5 /spl mu/m

We have developed an optical frequency standard at 1.5 /spl mu/m based on the acetylene overtone transitions. We have realized the frequency stability of about 2/spl times/10/sup -13/ and the frequency accuracy of about 10/sup -10/. A compact and portable frequency standard can be realized with the use of a DFB laser and a high-finesse Fabry-Perot cavity absorption cell.
