Roadmap Amid Chaos: Cyber Security Management for Organisations

It is evident that adoption of ICT has bought many positive changes in the society and operations of the organisations. However, along with positive changes, there is negative side of cyber threats which emerged as key challenge for organisations to securely operate the services on ICT infrastructure. A cyber attacks against the organisations ICT infrastructure can compromise and abuse it for the malicious purpose. There are numerous standards, frameworks, maturity models, law & regulations and guidelines available for implementing and managing cyber security for the organisation. However the selection of appropriate framework for cyber security is confusing for organisation due to lack of clear roadmap. This paper discusses the challenges in effective implementation of cyber security controls in an organisation. A roadmap for implementing, managing and assessing effective cyber security at organisation amid confusion & chaos of numerous frameworks is also proposed in this paper.
