Design of dual-band miniaturized slot loaded monopole antenna

A dual-band miniaturized monopole antenna is designed in this letter. Miniaturization is realized with high dielectric constant loading and inverted V shaped monopole. Low frequency bandwidth is broaden with the increased width of the radiating arm. Dual-band characteristic is realized by slotting the radiating arms. The antenna is simulated. The simulated results show that the antenna works at 1.268GHz and 1.575 GHz. The antenna can be used in BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and Global Positioning System (GPS).
