Novel method to extract the stray inductance from igbt switching curves

Stray inductance of IGBTs' dynamic test platform has great influence on dynamic characteristics. Conventional method by using switching off curves is inaccurate when considering the resistance in commutation circuit. A new method based on both switching on curves and switching off curves of IGBT is proposed to obtain the stray inductance. To verify the proposed method, circuit simulation is carried out by using Synopsys Saber; furthermore, a dynamic test platform is built, the stray inductance of the test platform is extracted under different voltage level. Simulation and experimental results proved the effectiveness of the new method.
