Measurements and modeling of hysteresis of magnetic materials under the action of an orthogonal bias field

The presence of a bias field changes measured properties of a magnetic material. Transverse permeability has ken modeled by Elk[l] using the Stoner-Wolhfarth model. In the present study, the hysteresis of isotropic magnetic materials under the action of an orthogonal bias field was investigated experimentally and modeled by an extension of the Jiles-Atherton model.
