A review of recent control strategies for wind farm based HVDC systems

This paper studies the recent control strategies that have been used in wind farm based HVDC systems. The control strategies that have been reviewed here are: Hybrid control of wind farm based HVDC; Over voltage limitation control of MMC based wind farm HVDC; Distributed control strategy for a wind generation system; Sensorless control strategy using kalmann filter; Fuzzy logic based adaptive droop control in multi-terminal HVDC. A theoretical analysis of each control strategy has been provided followed by a comparison between their individual characteristic indices as well as their pros and cons.
