Demonstration and characterization of 13 Gb/in/sup 2/ recording systems

We have successfully demonstrated the magnetic recording at areal densities exceeding 13 Gb/in2 at a data rate as high as 24.4 MB/s (195 Mbit/s) and at a Bit-Aspect-Ratio (BAR) as high as 14 [1].
