Effect of slider load on the wear debris contamination tendency of head/slider

Wear debris trapped at the interface of a slider/disk system poses a serious problem in the reliability of a hard disk. Particularly, as the flying height of the slider is further decreased to near-contact during operation, the probability for the contacting slider and disk surfaces to experience damage increases significantly.
