Classification of mine-like objects using seismo-acoustic data

This study considers the application of a simple discrete HMM-based classifier to differentiate between two types of mine-like objects buried in shallow sand using seismo-acoustic data. Rayleigh interface waves are used to determine the target locations. Results obtained on a limited trial basis indicate that the set-up can be used to classify the objects.
