Performance analysis of non orthogonal multiple access technique with precoding

In this paper, the performance of Non Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) technique in a cellular downlink scenario is analyzed. The main aim of NOMA is to use the power domain technique for multiple access (MA) to serve multiple users at the same time, frequency, and spreading code simultaneously. Firstly, signals of multiple users are combined using superposition coding (SC) technique at the transmitter and their corresponding signals are decoded by individual user at the receiver using successive interference cancellation (SIC) technique. Secondly, precoding technique is used at the NOMA transceiver to further improve the performance of NOMA and the simulated results of NOMA without and with precoding are compared. We observed that the NOMA using precoding has better bit error rate (BER) performance than the former case of NOMA.
