A network science approach to estimate link-related network economics

Over the last several years, network science has been evolved significantly for applied networking. It is being used to analyze the network characteristics. These analysis tools of network science can be utilized for the estimations of network parameters. In communication engineering, several network estimations are required for planning, dimensioning, cost estimations, design, overhauling, upgradation and expansion. In the early stage of planning and design, the estimations have to be done with partial information. These are challenging problems and they need the accurate models for trustworthy planning. In these cases, we can use network science based statistical models to estimate the parameters of network economics. In this work, we show the estimation of link related parameters of optical networks using the statistical models available from the network science approaches.
