Dualband antenna for handheld application

This paper proposed a study of microstrip patch antenna with two parasitic ground plane, rectangular substrate supports rectangular shaped patch. U slot is cut on the patch and two square slot is cut on the edge of patch in this antenna, which provides wide bandwidth in dual band characteristics. The first band has bandwidth 500MHz, which operate in the frequency range 5.6 GHz to 6.1 GHz and the second band has bandwidth 2500 MHz, which operate in the frequency range 7.1 GHz to 8.6 GHz. The design strategy involved to achieve remarkable operating bands mostly applicable for wireless communication. These frequencies apply for handheld devices like mobile phone, cordless, pager.
