Distributed demand response considering line loss for distributed renewable energy systems

This paper proposes a distributed optimization algorithm for the demand response problem in a distribution system, which consists of multiple renewable energy based microgrid systems. The objective of the system is formulated in a distributed manner in the consideration of line loss in the distribution system. Then, the distributed algorithm via the negotiation process among microgrids is proposed. The proposed algorithm for each system minimizes the formulated cost function considering the power information received from their neighboring systems via a communication system. The 24-hour power schedule results obtained from the simulation in MATLAB for a medium voltage distribution system verify the effectiveness of the proposed distributed algorithm.
