The conductor as the conerstone of winding manetomotive force

This work proposes the description of the MMF created by a single wire by three straight lines, later on represented by Fourier coefficients for better handling purposes. Therefore, the magnetic field observed over a plane located in the average air-gap of two concentric cylinders is obtained by the composition of the MMF generated by wires and not by coils. This approach allows the construction of any electrical machine winding scheme as they can be seen as a convenient arrangement of conductors placed in the machine slots. This problem was analytically solved by Hague but, in spite of the elegance of the exposition, that solution demands a greater mathematical effort to create a spatial image to perceive the magnetic flux lines behavior than the proposed approach. In addition, it will be presented a variation of the same problem, which considers the placement of the conductor in a rectangular slot at the external cylinder bore. The use of FEM bring enlightenment support to confirm the proposed analytical model.
