Radar with a local positioning video-system

Modern imaging radars are mostly based on aperture synthesis technology (SAR) and multidimensional signal processing. For correct post-processing and radio image recovery it is necessary to know coordinates of the radiolocator with the accuracy equal to eighths of wavelength. Radar is moved on the ground by operator and is located by GPS or a local positioning system. We suggest applying for positioning algorithms based on video filming and special markers recognition. During radio measure time, an operator moves the ground penetrating radar (GPR) above the ground and the GPR is located each time of the radio measure by analyzing a video frame image marker. The GPR usage is based on a radio holographic principle and on an adjustable frequency generator. A scanning surface is flat and Stolt's algorithm allows reconstructing a three-dimensional radio image. This article presents the results of experimental research and confirmed the applicability of the proposed method for practices. The developing technology will be used for safety and for searching of hidden objects under floors, under ground and behind walls.
