A low mutual coupling array antenna based on E-shaped structure with spiral

In this paper, a two-element low mutual-coupling antenna is proposed by using the E-shaped structure with spiral. The proposed antenna center frequency is 2.55GHz. The structure consists of a dielectric substrate, two identical rectangular patch antennas and an E-shaped decoupling structure with a spiral in the middle. Antenna shows a high degree of isolation through simulation. The coupling between the antennas is greatly reduced by the E-shaped structure with spiral. The simulation results show that the coupling between the antennas is -15 dB before the E-shaped structure with spiral is added, and the coupling between the antennas becomes -29 dB after adding the E-shaped structure with spiral. So the antenna proposed in the paper can provide 14 dB mutual Coupled decay over the operating frequency band, and have great practical value.
