A case study of adaptive microgrid protection during transitions and operations

Extensive distributed generation systems installed along with microgrids require a special attention for their protection systems due theirs nontraditional characteristics. This following paper aims to present a real Microgrid case study, where distributed energy resources and different operation schemes require a new protection system. The article will detail adaptive protection system approached in this microgrid scenario and its challenges for implementation.
