Concept and design of scaling-free, look-ahead CORDIC

This paper presents a concept and design of Coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) algorithm with reduced number of iterations and improved percentage error. By applying the concept of Look-Ahead, existing sub-divisions of algorithm are redesigned, in such a way that it process two steps at a time without using extra stages of logic, with the help of one coordinate-computation (CC) units out of four, these CC units are designed to meet the computation based on four different possible cases. And an implementable shift and add logic is designed for each of these sub-divisions.
