Key input method for handicapped people

It is relatively difficult for handicapped users, especially those without both hands, to input characters through a keyboard [1][2]. Moving a pointer with a foot and using a screen keyboard enable the handicapped to input characters; however, minute movement is required to handle it. In this paper, we propose a simple key input method using a device with a few switch buttons. ON/OFF, such as pressing a button, swinging the arm, kicking with the leg, or moving the chin up and down is very easy input and can also be used for inputting keys with these simple devices. Thus, we can use them for inputting characters using our method.
