A PSO/HS based algorithm for optimization tasks

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Harmony Search (HS) algorithms are efficient algorithms in dealing with optimization problems. In this paper, a novel PSO/HS based algorithm (PH) is generated using the significant properties of PSO and HS. It is aimed to merge the elitism feature of PSO by keeping the global best (Gbest) with the ability to discover new regions in search space by using the control parameters of HS. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm PH on the selected optimization tasks.
