Performance evaluation of sediment microbial fuel cells Powering electronic devices with maximum power point tracking

Sediment microbial fuel cells(SMFCs) are considered an alternative renewable power source for remote environmental monitoring. Maximum power point tracking is very important in MFC energy harvesting system. A novel maximum power point tracking method with a zoned approach is proposed to achieve the goal of fast tracking maximum power point. Simulation results by Matlab/Simulink software show that this method can be applied to SMFC. The method is used to build the actual circuit design and evaluate its performance in drive sensors.
