Numerical investigation of a compound piezoelectric energy harvester via macro fiber composite

This paper proposes a compound piezoelectric energy harvester (CPEH), which harvests electric power from first order bending mode induced by the automobile vibration. The novel CPEH is made of macro fiber composite and the carbon fiber composite. The electromechanical properties in the finite element method are conducted on the first order bending mode. Finally, the effect of the CPEH length a in the range of 0.02-0.03 m on the power, voltage and current are discussed in details as well. The maximum properties are obtained at a= 0.02 m.
