Freezing height level distribution over Durban, South Africa for satellite communication

One of the important limitation in designing Earth-space link telecommunication systems operating at frequencies above 10 GHz is attenuation due to rain which depends on rain height. This study observes Three-parameter Dagum distribution on the Freezing Height Level (FHL) using averaged 5-year data over Durban. The distribution shows a good fit with Root Mean Square Error of about 0.2613 when compared with the measured FHL.
