Communication system development of the pioneer Thai CubeSat project: KNACKSAT

Development of a 1-U CubeSat communication system is presented in this paper. GMSK modulated data from the satellite is transmitted to the ground station via a UHF channel. The uplink of the FSK modulated command from ground to the satellite is carried out via a VHF channel. As Tx and Rx antennas aboard KNACKSAT-the CubeSat to be created in this project, half wavelength dipoles were chosen. The developed communication system have successfully been tested with data communication between the satellite and the ground station.
