Study of multiple repeater antennas for high frequency (HF) RFID reader

This paper presents a study of multiple repeater antenna design for high frequency (HF) RFID reader. This work aims to show the possibility of increasing the reading area of the conventional HF RFID reader antenna by using the proposed multiple repeater antenna. The proposed repeater antenna is designed to operate at 13.56 MHz of ISO 15693, I-code standard. The proposed repeater antenna is located above the conventional HF RFID reader antenna without direct connection. The proposed repeater antenna configuration and its proper parameters are investigated. It is found that the reading area of the conventional HF RFID reader antenna can be increased. Moreover, the reading performances in the term of arbitrary tag orientation are improved more than 161.28 cm
