Novel integration-time conversion of rain-rate statistics for rain attenuation prediction models

Rain rate statistics is an essential part of rain attenuation prediction models. Mostly, the 1-min integration time is required for the rain rate statistics and, if it is not available, the methods in the Rec. ITU-R P.837 are commonly used to convert the available statistics to the statistics with 1-minute integration time. In this work, a novel integration-time conversion method is proposed based on the multi-rate signal processing and the correction scale. The performance results show that the proposed method is promising and outperforms the existing ITU-R models.
