A multi-objective optimal power flow model for transient and voltage stability improvement

This paper deals with voltage collapse proximity and dynamic stability of a power system following the occurrence of a contingency. The dynamic and static characteristics of the power system are incorporated into a multi-objective model in order to preserve power system security from the voltage and transient stability viewpoint. The optimization problem has been solved by the ε-constraint method. The objective functions of the proposed model include voltage collapse proximity index (VCPI) and corrected transient energy margin (CTEM). The proposed approach has been evaluated on the standard IEEE 30-bus system for a three-phase short circuit fault. The simulation results are promising and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
