Research on alternating current series arcing of in more electric aircraft system

More Electric Aircraft (MEA) is a promising aircraft, replacing air pressure system, hydraulic systems and mechanical systems by power system. Nevertheless, the increase of electrical equipment inevitably leads to more problems in aircraft safety problems, of which the arc fault has a great influence. This manuscript is aimed at series arc in because it's not easy to detect. To solve the problem of more electric aircraft safety, the dynamic simulation model of Schavemaker arc is established by MATLAB/Simulink in this paper, and the influence of different power supply parameters on the arc waveform is studied. The AC series arc experiment platform is set up and the arc waveform under different working conditions is further confirmed. Finally, the results of the experimental results and the simulation results are compared and analyzed. The voltage is smooth and steady when the arc is stabilized. The increasing frequency of the power supply leads to the severe distortion of arc voltage.
