Techniques of demand-side management applied to LV consumers with hourly rate and distributed generation

This paper analyze a Demand-Side Management (DSM) program for low-voltage (LV) consumers using a different kind of Brazilian hourly tariff, called as white tariff, combined with distributed generation from solar energy power sources. The study aims at residential consumers with energy monthly consumption between 301kWh and 500kWh. The load shifting and peak displacement techniques is used as DSM strategy, prioritizing handling the energy consumption of electric shower, air conditioning equipment, sound system and flatiron in peak hours, where the tariff cost of is higher. Here, it is used the Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables (HOMER) software.
