An analysis of the performance of power circuit breakers using the modelling of electric arc and a radiometric system

The operation of circuit-breakers generates high frequency signals, therefore, a way to capture these signals is a radiometric system to evaluate the operation of the circuit-breaker, the greatest advantage of this method is that it\s possible the analyze the performance of the circuit-breaker without the need of any operational change to insert measuring devices. However, it was necessary to verify the results and guarantee that they are according to traditional methods, for that we modelled the electric power system of the power utility company according to international standards, however the field measurements have also shown the electric arc. Due to the electric arc it was necessary to include it in the simulations so that it was possible to analyze how reliable the radiometric system can be.
