Proof-of-concept of a method for Contactless Vector Network Analysis Using impedance probes

Measuring the scattering parameters of electric components is normally established by using suitable high frequency galvanic contacts like those of coaxial connectors. Methods for Contactless Vector Network Analysis (CVNA) are rare but could promise advantages in many respects. In this paper, a pre-existing concept for Contactless Vector Network Analysis using a special sort of current probes as contactless couplers is verified in practice. For that purpose, the scattering parameters of a two-wire line are measured applying this method. The results are compared with an analytical computation of the two-wire line and also with the results from a simulation of the used test object.
