Synoptic approach on biometric modelling and its application on security purposes

Biometrics describes the metrics related to human identification. The Biometrics authentication or realistic authentication is used in identification and access control. It is mainly for identifying individuals in groups that are under scrutiny. Biometrics is a self-regulating method of recognizing a person based on physiological or behavioural characteristics. Biometric identifiers are then unique, measurable characteristics used to label and describe individuals. Biometric identifiers are often categorised under physiological versus behavioural characteristics. Physiological characteristics are inter related to the shape of the body. Biometrics involves various parameters such as fingerprint, face recognition, palm print, hand geometry, iris recognition, retina and odour/scent. Behavioural characteristics are linked to the behavioural pattern of a person, including but not cramped to typing rhythm, gait, and voice. Some researchers have coined the term behavioural biometrics to describe the latter class of biometrics. The main goal is to describe the various techniques in biometric systems and their applications.
