MPPT based control of sepic converter using firefly algorithm for solar PV system under partial shaded conditions

This paper presents a MPPT based control of SEPIC converter using Firefly algorithm for Solar PV system under Partial Shaded Conditions. A novel Firefly Algorithm(FA)is proposed to track the maximum power from solar panel. The proposed Firefly algorithm eliminates the multiple peaks, reduce the tracking time and improve the conversion efficiency of the converter. The results of the performance parameters at different irradiation and Partial Shaded Conditions are compared and analyzed for Perturb and Observe (P&O), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Firefly algorithms. The results of the proposed algorithm show better results compared with other algorithms.
