Assessing non-stationary power quality phenomena of induction motors

Maintaining electromagnetic compatibility of electric equipment implies taking into account various prescriptions that standardize capabilities of equipment to generate and absorb electromagnetic interference. By the example of induction motor this paper analyzes present approaches to estimate non-stationary harmonic emission levels. The use of wavelet transform for harmonic estimation and rotor damage diagnostics of ac motor is demonstrated.
