Self-diffraction dispersion-scan and its application to the measurement of over octave-spanning pulses in the single-cycle regime

Here we present a new implementation of the dispersion-scan (d-scan) technique, based on nonlinear self-diffraction (SD) in thin glass slides, and apply it to the complete characterization of over octave-spanning (480-1050 nm) pulses from a hollow-core fiber (HCF) compressor, also comparing with second-harmonic generation (SHG) d-scan measurements.
