Fabrication of lightwave circuits on flat fibers: System-in-fiber

This paper reports ultrafast laser fabrication of waveguide circuits in optical fibers with rectangular cross-section and large flat surface area designed for on/in fiber integration. Low-loss coupler and WDM devices are directly integrated in fibers.
