Near-field studies of thermal radiation and local density of states

The thermal radiation, governed by the local density of states, is probed with a thermal radiation scanning tunneling microscope (TRSTM). We investigate plasmonic modes on doped/undoped semiconductor heterostructures. We demonstrate that TRSTM produces undistorted near-field images at large scale.
