The mixel camera — Keystone-free hyperspectral images

The mixel camera provides keystone-free high spatial resolution hyperspectral images. The camera is based on a new principle for hyperspectral imaging, where a mathematical method is combined with a hardware component in order to restore the captured hyperspectral data to its keystone-free form. Simulations performed with a Virtual Camera software, that was specifically developed for this purpose, have shown that the mixel camera could significantly outperform the current generation of hyperspectral cameras. A prototype has been built and is currently being tested.
