Introduction to Crosstalk

Magnetic field coupling dominates crosstalk when the termination impedances are low. Electric field coupling dominates when the impedances are high. E- and H-field coupling subtract at the far end of the coupled line. Crosstalk from field coupling takes the time derivative of the source waveform. Crosstalk nulls when the co-route length is a multiple of a half wavelength. Crosstalk peaks when the co-route length is an odd multiple of a quarter wavelength.
