Speed coordinated electric drives in the woodworking machines

The article describes the current level of the electric drives in the wood industry by the example of rotary debarking machines. It is shown that the unregulated electric drive is used even in the modern designs of the debarking machines. It suggests a number of measures for the electric drive modernization which will help to improve the productivity and the energy efficiency of the equipment. The effectiveness of the proposed measures is illustrated by means of the mathematical modeling.
