Mobile heart rate monitor for myocardial infarction patients

Myocardial Infarction or more commonly called as heart attack is the number one fatal disease in Malaysia since 2010. Doctors treating heart attack need to analyze the patients' symptom occurrence and this has been a big problem for patients to always note down every time they face a symptom. Pain area, time of occurrence and patient's current activity are examples of information needed for the symptom log. Moreover, heart attack patients should always be cautious of their heart rate for irregular heart rate may be an early sign of a heart attack. Hence, this project aims to develop a mobile application to help myocardial infarction patients to keep track of their heart rate and seek for emergency help with ease. Methodology for the development of this project, Rational Unified Process (RUP) was chosen because it is an iterative and incremental development methodology. Fully functioning system, along with the system's architecture and data design are the result for this project. The system was tested using Black Box Test and User Acceptance Test techniques to verify all the specification that have been implemented. More functionalities can be added to support this system such as automated health report and applying fall detection to the system. An in-app ambulance navigation also is a nice feature to be included in future work.
