12.6 GHz off-set fed multilayer reflectarray

This work describes the design of an offset-fed printed microstrip reflectarray with patches of variable sizes. The single element characterization will be provided, which is designed in a multilayer fashion to improve the bandwidth of the manufactured antenna as well as to smooth the phase variation with the patches' size. Taking into account the type of feed available, a 4×4 conventional array, a theoretical analysis for the best feed position is used. Simulation and measured results for a prototyped reflectarray operating at 12.6 GHz is presented.
