Improvement of dynamic characteristics of low-cost servo valve using buckled tubes and RC servo motor

To develop “a home rehabilitation device” that users can buy it without official financial assistance, a cost of a control valve becomes serious concerns. The cost of the valve occupies in major cost of the whole pneumatic driving system. Especially, in a wearable driving system for rehabilitation, the mass and size of valve are also serious concerns. Therefore, in our previous study, a low-cost and small-sized servo valve using buckled tubes and a RC servo motor was proposed and tested. In this paper, the improvement of dynamic characteristics of the valve by using of minor modification of the built-in controller in RC servo motor is described. The control system and dynamic performance of the improved valve are also described.
