Comparative study of the performances of the DC/DC luo-converter in photovoltaic applications

In this paper, the study of converters for which the output voltage can be lower or higher than the input voltage is modeled and sized, and then compared under a specific photovoltaic conversion chain. In this work we consider only the case of increasing voltage. The focus of this paper is the stand-alone PV systems (not connected to the grid), so the use of a storage system is required. An electric model of the used solar module is developed. Then we propose to examine the possibilities of adapting the PV generator with the electrical load provided. The identification and the modeling of each component of five different topologies of the DC/DC converter taking into account the effects of parasitic elements is made. Finally, a comparative study of these five structures through a connection between a 50W PV module and 24V battery with a resistive load is showed.
