Scattering by a coated elliptic cylinder truncated by a metal plane

A structure consisting of a metallic cylinder of elliptic cross section, coated by a conformal layer of material isorefractive to the surrounding medium, and truncated perpendicularly to its generators by a metal plane, is analyzed in the phasor domain. The electromagnetic field produced by an arbitrarily polarized incident plane wave is determined exactly.
