Frame segmentation and recognition algorithm for ship's HRRPs based on hypothesis testing

Radar target recognition for ship target plays an important part in maritime early warning and detection systems. And high resolution range profile (HRRP) is a hot research topic because of its easy measurement, processing and excellent environment adaptability. According to the mechanism of HRRP, the complex gauss statistical characteristic is analyzed using the hypothesis testing. And frame segmentation is realized with the K-S hypothesis testing, which make the each frame data satisfy the same gauss distribution and the different frame data satisfy the different distribution. Finally, the Bayes classifier is presented based the complex gauss distribution for ship recognition and the experiment results validate the effectiveness of the proposed frame segmentation and recognition algorithm.
