Magnetic and transport properties of melt spun ribbons of Fe43.5Mn34Al15Ni7.5 Heusler alloys

First-principles calculations have suggested that the electronic structure of Fe
₂
MnAl is characterized by a band gap for the minority spins and a small density of electronic states for majority spins, i.e., that the Fe
₂
MnAl Heusler alloy is a half-metallic ferromagnet.
