Evaluation of the acrylic dental resins silver nanoparticles enriched

The prevention of dental stomatitis still represent a challenge for dentists and more studies are necessary in order to find the optimal prevention method. One of the direction is to take into consideration how silver nanoparticles could influence the structure of the resins and mechanical and physical properties. In our research we investigate the stress distribution in a dental acrylic resins reinforced with AgNps with 20 nm diameter in two concentration: 5 and 20% weight percent. In order to predict the optimum size and distribution of AgNps as average distance between particles, a finite element analysis was performed, revealing the stress field at the particle/matrix interface. Taking into consideration the conclusions it is obvious that the optimal AgNps concentration is 5%, from both biological and mechanical point of view.
