AP scheduling protocol for power beacon with directional antenna in Energy Harvesting Networks

Energy-constrained wireless networks have limited lifetimes, largely confining the network performance. Radio frequency (RF) energy transfer and harvesting techniques enable wireless devices to replenish their energy. In this paper, by jointly considering the benefits of directional antenna by which a power beacon (PB) can transfer energy to desired sectors only and RF energy harvesting, a medium access control (MAC) protocol is proposed. The simulation results show our proposed MAC protocol is able to harvest more energy and performs longer work time.
